Mr. Yandamoori Veerendranath is a Chartered Accountant and had worked with State Finance Corporation for five years and Andhra Bank for 10 years, in a senior executive position. He was the youngest officer to hold highest position in the history of the bank.

He was basically a Play – Wright, having penned about 10 plays, with more than ten thousand shows. His play Raghupathi Raghava Rajaram won the prestigious Sahitya Academy Award in the year of 1981.

Later he reassigned himself to novel writing and wrote about 50 novels to his credit, of which 'Thulasidalam', 'Vennello Aadapilla' are famous. Many of his works are translated into Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, and some short stories into English, Hindi, Gujarathi & Marathi. His latest personality development book 'Vijayaniki Aidu Metlu' has broken the all-time record of Telugu literature, by crossing a turnover of Rupees Ten Million.

He won two prestigious Golden Nandi awards from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, for his TV Serials. He worked for more than thirty films. His first film 'oka voori kadha' directed by Dada Phalke Award winner Mrinal Sen, for which he wrote dialogues won Silver medal as the best regional film by the President of India. He also wrote dialogues for films like 'Manchu pallaki' and 'Abhilasha'.

In an opinion poll conducted by a literary magazine, Andhra Jyothi in 1988, he was elected as one of the four most popular persons in the state, others being NT. Ramarao, General Krishna rao and Director Bapu.

Close to the banks of river Godavari, Mr. Veerendranath has constructed a Saraswathi temple, and an ashram, to educate a batch of students every day in 'The Art of Studying' at free of cost.
