Achievements

The Success Streak of Osmania University Engineering College Students saw the First week of Placement Season ending on July 06 2008 resulting in a record offers by IT Majors. Another golden page opens in the history of Placements at University College of Engineering, Osmania University as the Campus Placements have reached the pinnacle. The Campus saw an unique coming together of four major IT giants CTS, WIPRO, INFOSYS & TCS for “DAY ONE Premium Company Recruitment Drive” on the same day for the first time in the history of Placements of Engineering Colleges in India. Other Companies who have visited as Premium Day One Companies include Yahoo, De Shaw, ORACLE, Amazon India, Ashok Leyland, Commvault and Intergraph

The number of job offers received through campus recruitment programmes (CRPs) for the year 2008-09 on the very first day of placement has touched an all time high of 453. However, Students have accepted 387 offers only after rejecting 66 offers which is a unique thing.

The companies which participated in this drive were jubilant of this recruitment process. This is just a kick start for upcoming placement season to overshadow the previous record of 556 Careers Offers in the previous academic year 2007-08. Average salary offered during the year 2007-08 was Rs. 3.8 lakhs/Annum. There were about 56 companies who visited the College for Career /Internship offers .

During the year 2008-09,the salary package offers made include Rs. 13 lakhs/Annum by Yahoo and Rs. 11.7 lakhs/Annum by D. E. Shaw India Software Pvt. Ltd. TCS has made a record maximum offer of 130 Jobs followed by CTS with 124 Job offers, Wipro Technologies with 119Job offers and Infosys with 76 Job Offers.
