  1. MoU has been signed between Department of Electrical Engineering, University College of Engineering, Osmania University, Hyderabad, and Central Power Training Institute (CPTI), Southern Power Distribution Company of TelanganaLimited (TSSPDCL) on 16th July 2019 at 11am. The signatories are on behalf ofOsmania University Prof. Ch. Gopal Reddy Registrar and from TSSPDCL Shri A.G.Satish Kumar, CGM (HRD).
  2. 3/4/5 week Summer Internship Program has been initiated in the department in May 2019.
  3. Organized Workshop titled “Engineering Research Methodology” for Ph.D. scholars during 13th to 17th May, 2019 in the department, coordinator is Dr. B. Sirisha
  4. Created Department Training and Development Centre for organizing all Departmental Training, Development and Consultancy Programs in the Department and Coordinator is Dr. N. Susheela
  5. Prof. G. Mallesham, Prof. B. Mangu, Mr. M.V. Ramana Rao, Dr. N. Susheela and Dr. J. Upendar visited Central Power Training Institute (CPTI-TSSPDCL), Vengalrao Nagar, Yerragadda, Hyderabad, On 18-05-2019 on the purpose of MoU with TSSPDCL.
  6. Children of TS Residential School visited the department and Motivational program was organized on 4th April, 2019.
  7. Organized Workshop titled, “Induction Program for Ph.D. Scholars” for All (I, II and III year) Ph.D scholars, on 20-04-2019 Recourse Persons: Prof. Sukumar Mishra, IIT, Delhi, Dept.of EE.  Dr. VVS. Pradeep Kumar, IIT Mumbai and Dept Faculty Members
  8. Created Faculty Advisor for Ph.D. Research Scholars (EE) (Regular & Part Time) and Dr. B. Sirisha appointed as Coordinator
  9. Mrs. U. Suryavalli completed contact period at IIT, Bombay and joining there shortly as part of PhD under QIP.
  10. Department of Electrical Engineering organized FREESTYLE-2019 on 09-04- 2019.
  11. Department of Electrical Engineering organized workshop in collaboration with Mathworks India Pvt Ltd on New MATLAB Software & Latest Features and participation from EEE, ECE, CSE faculty and Ph.D research scholars on 29-04-2019 with Dr. J. Upendar, Coordinator.
  12. Techsonance-2019, 20thNational level students Technical Symposium was organized during 1st  - 2nd March, 2019 coordinated by Prof. G. Mallesham and Dr. J. Upendar
  13. Technical Lecture on Earthing and Earth Fault Protection by Mr. C. Satish, Life SMIEEE, organized by IEEE Power & Energy Society Branch Chapter OUCE on 22nd March, 2018 at 4.30 P.M
  14. Techsonance-2018, 19thNational level students Technical Symposium was organized during 9th -10th March, 2018 coordinated by Prof. B. Mangu.
  15. One week GIAN short term course, sponsored by MHRD, Govt. of India was organized by Prof. B. Mangu, on “High Voltage Gain Soft-Switching Advanced Current-fed Technologies for Microgrid and Electric Transportation” during 18th to 23rd December, 2017.
  16. Three-day International conference has been organized by the college, “International Conference on Innovative Technologies in Engineering (ICITE)-2018” during 11th-13th April 2018, with Prof. G.Mallesham as Convenor.

  18. Fourth Diamond Jubilee Endowment Lecture on “Distribution Systems with High Photovoltaic (PV) Penetration-Modeling, Analysis and Main Findings”, by Prof. Vijay Vittal, Arizona State University on 6th October, 2017 (Dr. G. Mallesham, Coordinator)
  19. Prof. Rezwam Khan Vice Chancellor, United International University (UIU), Bangladesh, delivered a guest lecture on “Solar PV based Standalone Grid System for Developing Countries” on 11th April, 2017, coordinated by  Dr. J. Upendar
  20. Dr. Ch. Anand Babu Associate Professor, Electrical Engineering Department, VIGNAN’s Institute of Information Technology, Vizag, A.P. delivered a guest lecture on “String Inverter Topologies for Grid-Tied PV Systems” and given a Training Programme on “Digital Control Implementation Using TMS320F28335 Platfrom” from 7th& 8th April, 2017.
  21. Techsonance-2017, 18th National level students Technical Symposium, during 9th -11th March, 2017 coordinated by Dr. G. Mallesham.
  22. As a part of student technical festival, Techsoance5K run was organized by students on 5th March, 2017.  Honorable Hyderabad Mayor B. Rammohan and Vice-Chancellor S. Ramachandram flaged– off the run to create awareness about two concepts.
  23. Usage of energy efficiency electrical appliances.
    1. To encourage people to generate power in their own houses by installing roof top solar panels. 
  24. Dr. V.V.S. Pradeep Kumar delivered a guest lecture on “Grid Integration of Solar Photovoltaics” in the Department on 1st March, 2017 at 10.30 A.M. 
  25. A Two Day Training Program under TEQIP-II was organized by Dr. P. SatishKumar on “Implementation of Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation to Multilevel Inverters using FPGA” a technology transfer under SERB-Search Project during 16th -17th  September, 2016.
  26. A Two Day Workshop on “Power Quality-Harmonic Analysis for Power Systems” on 19th – 20th September, 2016, coordinated by Dr. M. Manjula & Mrs. G.V.Naga Lakshmi.
  27. B.E II/IV II- Semester (around 50 students) visited KTPS, Paloncha, Khammam Dist., on 14-03-2017 to 15-03-2017 Industrial tour. The following staff members accompanied the students.
